In 2014 Fresh Science Australia partnered with the British Council to bring FameLab to Australia. The national winner of 2014 FameLab Australia and Fresh Science was Michael Smout from James Cook University, with his research story on cancer-causing worms. Runner up was Tim Brennan from The University of Queensland, with his story on orange-flavoured jet fuel.
